Full entry rules

Backpack Limited Allowed only within hand-luggage size 30x40x15 cm; backpacks 'exceeding the permitted dimensions' are prohibited (Art. 9.6). No cloakroom, so oversized backpacks are denied entry.
Suitcase / luggage Not allowed Suitcases and trolleys exceeding the permitted dimensions are explicitly prohibited (Art. 9.6); with the 30x40x15 cm cap and no luggage storage, normal suitcases are effectively not allowed.
Water bottle Not specified Only glass bottles ('bottiglie in vetro') are explicitly prohibited (Art. 9.6); plastic water bottles are not addressed in the official regulation.
Metal bottle Not specified Metal/reusable bottles are not addressed in the official regulation; only glass bottles are explicitly banned.
Food Not allowed Eating is only allowed in designated areas, which the regulation states are 'not present at the Colosseum' ('consumare pasti se non negli spazi consentiti (non presenti al Colosseo)', Art. 9.2).
Stroller Not specified Strollers/prams (passeggini) are not mentioned in the official visitor regulation nor on the official accessibility page.
Tripod Not allowed Tripods are explicitly prohibited as professional optical/audio equipment without formal authorization (Art. 9.7: 'tripods, cameras, microphones, audio mixers, etc.').
Camera Allowed Ordinary photography is permitted; only professional optical/audio equipment and drones require formal authorization (Art. 9.7). Selfie sticks are banned (Art. 9.6).
Umbrella Limited The official prohibited-items article (Art. 9.6) references umbrella size ('ombrelli di dimensioni non superiori ad un metro'); large/long umbrellas are restricted, a compact umbrella is the safe choice. Wording is ambiguous in both IT and EN texts.
Pets Limited Only guide dogs or therapy dogs (with medical certification) are allowed inside the Colosseum and closed areas (Art. 9.3); no other pets.
E-scooter Not allowed Explicitly prohibited along with bicycles and other vehicles ('biciclette, monopattini e altri mezzi', Art. 9.6).

Cloakroom: Official regulation (Art. 7.7) states the Park has no cloakroom or luggage storage ('Il Parco archeologico del Colosseo non e dotato di guardaroba o deposito bagagli'). Anything over 30x40x15 cm cannot be brought in or left anywhere.
