Straight answers to "can I bring this in?"
An independent reference for travellers: the bag and entry rules of museums and attractions, read from the venues' own regulations.
You've just checked out of your hotel, you're dragging a suitcase, and you want to see the Colosseum before your train. Can you bring the bag in? Is there a cloakroom? Where do you leave it? The official answer is usually buried in a regulation PDF, often only in Italian, and travel blogs rarely agree with each other.
CanIBring turns those scattered rules into one clear answer per venue and per item — backpacks, suitcases, water bottles, food, strollers, tripods, cameras, umbrellas, pets and e-scooters — with the official source linked right next to it.
How an answer gets on the site
- Find the official rules. The venue's own visitor regulations, FAQ or rulebook PDF — never a blog, forum or ticket reseller.
- Extract what they actually say. Each item gets Allowed, Limited, Not allowed or Not specified, with a short note and, where given, the exact size limit.
- Keep the original wording. Every venue page shows an excerpt of the official text (in its original language) so you can check our reading yourself.
- Date it. Each page shows when it was last checked, and pages that the venue barely documents are clearly flagged instead of padded out.
What we are — and aren't
We're independent and not affiliated with any venue, ticket seller or tour operator. The rules here summarise public visitor regulations; they are not legal advice, and security staff on the day always have the final word. Confirm on the official website before you travel — policies change, and some venues apply different rules during exhibitions or events.
Luggage-storage and ticket links may be affiliate links. They never influence what a rule says: a venue that bans suitcases is shown as banning suitcases, whatever that does to our clicks.
