Can you bring a bag or backpack inside?
Medium and large backpacks forbidden inside; must be left at the mandatory free Luggage Storage (Piazza Duomo 38/r). Small bags may be tolerated. Maximum item size: Medium and large bags, backpacks and suitcases not allowed (must use Luggage Storage).

Use of the Luggage Storage at Piazza Duomo 38/r (next to the Opera del Duomo Museum) is mandatory for all visitors to the monumental complex and is free of charge. Suitcases, backpacks, parcels, containers and medium/large bags must be deposited before the visit; baggage over 25 kg is not accepted, and items must be collected before the storage closes. Visitors to the Museum only use the museum cloakroom at Piazza Duomo 9.
Anything over the size limit has to be stored. On-site storage can fill up at peak times, so a nearby luggage storage is a useful backup.
